About Bioshare
Ventria's BioShare Program provides an opportunity for researchers to gain access to a free supply of recombinant proteins and peptides for their exciting research ideas. By completing the brief request form , researchers could be "granted" sufficient quantities (milligrams to potentially hundreds of grams) of the following proteins:
- Recombinant human lactoferrin
- Recombinant human lysozyme
Ventria is in the process of developing other proteins and peptides and plans to add more to this program in the future.
Ventria has preliminary data that show biologics produced in its ExpressTec system function identical to their native form.
"Expression of natural antimicrobial human lysozyme in rice grains"
"Expression of human lactoferrin in transgenic rice grains for the application in infant formula"
In order to further enhance this data, Ventria is willing to provide materials to others for research efforts that characterize the function and utility of these human proteins/peptides.

In the past, it has been difficult for researchers and companies to conduct extensive studies on human proteins/peptides because native and/or recombinant research materials were cost prohibitive and sufficient quantities were not readily available. Ventria's ExpressTec™ system has removed these barriers.
